In 1841 New Ulm had its beginning as Duff's Settlement.  In 1850 the community changed the name of Duff's Settlement to New Ulm in honor of Ulm, Germany -since many of the settlers in New Ulm came from Ulm, Germany.  New Ulm has numerous homes and buildings, which were built in the late 1800's.  A map and pictures of the homes are available to the guest at our Bed & Breakfast.
